Transportation is the backbone of economic progress, social inclusion, and sustainable urban development. As Sindh continues to grow, building a modern, efficient, and integrated public transport system is not merely an infrastructure priority, it is an investment in the future of our people.
The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) is leading this transformation with a clear vision: to deliver safe, reliable, affordable, and environmentally sustainable mobility solutions that connect communities, empower citizens, and drive economic opportunity across the province. Through landmark initiatives such as the People's Bus Service, electric buses, and future mass transit projects, we are redefining public transportation and setting new standards for accessibility, innovation, and service excellence.
Our commitment extends beyond expanding transport infrastructure. We are creating a system that enhances quality of life, reduces congestion, promotes cleaner mobility, and supports the sustainable growth of our cities. Every initiative undertaken by SMTA reflects our dedication to transparency, innovation, operational excellence, and putting the needs of the people first.
The Government of Sindh remains steadfast in its mission to build a transport network that is resilient, inclusive, and future-ready. Together with our development partners, technical experts, and dedicated workforce, we will continue to shape a connected Sindh where modern mobility serves as a catalyst for prosperity and progress for generations to come.
I invite you to explore the work of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority and join us in our shared journey toward a smarter, greener, and better-connected Sindh.

Secretary Transport & Mass Transit Department, Government of Sindh
The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) is committed to building a strong institutional framework that supports the planning, regulation, and efficient management of modern public transportation across Sindh. Our responsibility is to ensure that transport systems are developed and operated with the highest standards of safety, efficiency, accountability, and public service.
At SMTA, we strive to strengthen governance through evidence-based planning, digital innovation, regulatory oversight, and continuous improvement. Our teams work diligently to enhance operational performance, promote sustainable transport practices, and deliver services that meet the expectations of commuters while supporting the long-term development objectives of the province.
As urban centres continue to expand, the need for coordinated, resilient, and technology-driven transport solutions becomes increasingly important. We remain focused on fostering collaboration with public institutions, development partners, technical experts, and private stakeholders to build an efficient transport ecosystem that is responsive to future challenges.
I appreciate the dedication of our officers, engineers, planners, and professionals whose commitment continues to strengthen the Authority's capacity to deliver meaningful results. Together, we will continue to uphold the values of professionalism, transparency, and excellence in serving the people of Sindh.

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) is a pivotal government body operating under the Transport and Mass Transit Department of the Government of Sindh. Formed in October 2017 through the Sindh Mass Transit Authority Act, 2014, the authority is entrusted with the mission to design, develop, operate, and maintain mass transit infrastructure across the province — playing a central role in reducing traffic congestion, promoting sustainable transport solutions, and enhancing mobility for all citizens.
From high-capacity Bus Rapid Transit corridors to targeted mobility programmes like the Pink Scooty Scheme, SMTA works to make safe, reliable, and affordable transportation accessible to every resident of Sindh — regardless of income, gender, or neighbourhood.

Mission, Vision & Values
Mission
To deliver integrated transit systems built on respect for all and professionalism at every level of operation. We plan and operate transit infrastructure that treats every commuter — regardless of background — with dignity, and we hold ourselves to a professional standard in how we design, procure, and deliver projects for the public good.
Vision
A Sindh where mass transit moves people with dignity and ease, not just vehicles. We envision a province-wide network that commuters trust — one that shortens journeys, expands opportunity, and makes safe mobility a right rather than a privilege.
Values
- Sustainability — favouring low-emission, hybrid, and electric transit wherever possible.
- Accessibility — designing services that work for women, students, and low-income commuters alike.
- Trust & integrity — operating transparently as stewards of public resources and public trust.
